De Babel Joins the Ball-To-All Movement This World Cup Season

Ball To All Movement, This summer, while the world unites around the beautiful game, De Babel Mediterranean Restaurant is doing more than watching from the sidelines — we’re giving back, one ball at a time.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is unlike any tournament before it. For the first time in history, the world’s most-watched sporting event is being hosted across three nations — the United States, Canada, and Mexico — bringing billions of fans closer to the action and igniting a global wave of community spirit. For us at De Babel, this moment feels personal.

Our restaurant was born from the heart of the Mediterranean — a region where food, community, and sport have always been woven together. Our founder’s Jordanian roots run deep, and soccer is not just a game in that part of the world. It is a language spoken by every child in every alley, a source of pride, of dreams, and of belonging.

What is Ball-To-All?

Ball-To-All is a nonprofit organization built on one simple, powerful idea: every child deserves a ball to play with. Founded on the belief that a soccer ball can keep a child healthy, happy, and out of trouble, the organization has delivered over 50,000 soccer balls to disadvantaged kids around the world through a network of dedicated ambassadors. Their slogan says it all: Every kid can have a ball.

“There are children who have never had a soccer ball to play with. With a $5 contribution, you help change that — by sending a soccer ball through the Ball To All initiative, with De Babel supporting it from start to finish. Give a ball. Share a smile.”

How De Babel is getting involved

Starting this month, De Babel is proud to partner with Ball To All during the World Cup season. For every $5 donated through our campaign, a brand-new soccer ball will be placed in the hands of a child who has never had one. It becomes a moment of play, laughter, and connection — something no child should have to go without.

We believe a restaurant is more than a place to eat. It is a place where communities gather, where cultures are shared, and where we take care of one another. The same warmth we put into every dish on our table, we want to send out into the world through this initiative.

Why this matters to us

Jordan qualified for its very first FIFA World Cup in 2023. The pride that swept the country, the streets filled with chants, children running with flags — that is the power of the beautiful game. It is a reminder that sport can transform lives, communities, and futures. As a Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Scottsdale, we are proud to carry that spirit forward.

The World Cup is coming to our backyard this summer. Phoenix and the surrounding area are part of this global celebration. We want to make sure that the joy we feel watching these games extends beyond the screen — and into the lives of children who deserve to play.

Join us. Give a ball. Share a smile.

A small gesture can go a long way. For just $5, you can place a soccer ball in the hands of a child who doesn’t have one. Come in, ask our team, and be part of the movement.
